12/04/2025 at 9:58 am #67019Yes, RAM is upgradeable on the Dell 15 DC15250. It has two SODIMM slots that are either DDR4 or DDR5, depending on the particular configuration. That’s per the manual: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-us/dell-dc15250-laptop/dell_15_dc15250_owners_manual/memory?guid=guid-c921bbbc-3ad1-44dc-a91c-799f02c95f51&lang=en-us
and this video:Now, the currently available configurations – with Intel Core 3 100U, i5-1334U, and i7-1355U are all listed with DDR4 RAM, although the CPUs by design support both DDR4 and DDR5.
https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/dell-laptops/dell-15-laptop/spd/dell-dc15250-laptop/usedc15250hbtshrckSo it’s likely you’ll need DDR4, but make sure it is, because DDR4 and DDR5 RAM and slots are not compatible.
Also, the manual says that the DC15250
- “shipped with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-C port (data only)” support DDR4 speed up to 2666 MHz and DDR5 up to 4400 MT/s, while
- “shipped with USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode 1.4/Power Delivery)” support up to 3200 MHz DDR4 and up to 5200 MT/s DDR5.
I have checked the product page on Dell Store I linked above and it says that the 2nd variant – Type-C port with DisplayPort, is only on models with aluminum chassis.

12/12/2025 at 10:21 am #67076In the manual Dell says maximal RAM is 16GB in total, but that’s likely what they offer as RAM configuration when buying the laptop directly from Dell. Per Intel, the offered CPUs actually support up to 96GB – “Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) 96 GB”. I don’t know if the laptop can support that much, but for sure there are 32GB configurations offered. Like this one: https://www.newegg.com/dell-15-6-full-hd-no-intel-uhd-graphics-32gb-memory-1-tb-ssd-black/p/1TS-000A-14V97
The same product page says maximal supported RAM is 64GB.
So I’m pretty much sure you can have at least 32GB and likely 64GB. 48GB SODIMMs for a total of 96GB are quite rare anyways.
