The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is a mid-range video card for laptop and desktop PCs. Regarding laptops, it is mostly used in mid-tier gaming notebook models. There are two variants of the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti card for laptops – the regular GTX 1660 Ti and the Max Q version of the GTX 1660 Ti. As same as with the other GeForce video cards which have their Max Q counterparts, GTX 1660 Ti Max Q consumes less power and runs cooler than the standard version. On the negative side, it is somewhat slower.

An important feature that is lacking on the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti as opposed to the high-end GeForce RTX 2000-series is ray-tracing technology. Ray-tracing enhances lighting, shadows, and effects in games.

Laptop video card benchmarks show the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is somewhere in the middle performance-wise. Or more precisely, it’s in the upper-mid-range because of its relatively high performance when compared to other mid-rangers. It isn’t much slower than the ray-tracing-equipped GeForce RTX 2060 you can find in pricier gaming laptops and provides substantial performance boost over the cheaper GeForce GTX 1650.

        Gameplay Tests

Here are some videos showcasing real-world gaming performance of GTX 1660 Ti-equipped laptops. The videos show the card is capable of running the latest hardware-demanding games very smoothly on at least medium and mid-to-high graphics detail settings and Full HD resolution. Lighter game titles run smoothly on maximal graphics quality settings and Full HD.

Almost every time unless you have a special laptop with a external gpu, the gpu is integrated into the motherboard. So no unfortunately you can’t
