The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is a stronger version of the standard GTX 1050. The 1050 Ti isn’t just a minor upgrade over the non-Ti 1050. The Ti has more computing cores and higher core clock speeds as the main specs bumps. These hardware advantages result in noticeably smoother gaming experience in most games. Still, both the 1050 and 1050 Ti are just mid-range laptop video card solutions. They can run many of the older and non-demanding games on maximal settings and Full HD resolution. The latest heavy-weight games run smoothly on medium-ish settings and Full HD. On the positive side, laptops with the 1050 / Ti series are meaningfully cheaper than their counterparts equipped with the GTX 1060 or higher.
Please keep in mind that select, mostly thinner, gaming laptop models have Max-Q version of the 1050 Ti. Max-Q provides better power efficiency and reduced heat at expense of weaker graphics power.
