The Intel Core Ultra 9 185H is a top-tier processor in the upper-mid-range Core Ultra H lineup. The processor is designed for demanding tasks like multimedia creation besides everyday work, but it is not as fast as the common Intel Core H high-performance chips you can find in gaming and other powerful laptops.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 185H is faster than the Core Ultra 7 155H and 5 125H from the same CPU family. But, the Ultra 9 consumes more power than the Ultra 7 and 5 variants – 45 Watts versus 28 Watts. The higher wattage means more headroom to power the chip sufficiently during high CPU loads. But, it of course consumes more battery juice and must be accompanied by a good laptop CPU cooling solution to work well. On the other hand, the Core Ultra 9 H is less power-hungry than the regular 55-Watt Core H, not only because of lower default wattage, but also because the Ultra H has two additional low-power cores to handle light tasks more efficiently.

As for the graphics performance of the built-in Intel Arc integrated graphics, it is suitable only for light PC games. But, it is better than the popular Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics in similar processors of 2023, rebranded as the Intel Graphics in the 2024 CPUs.
